Computer network

A computer network refers to a network of computers wherein two or more computers are interlinked to each other with the purpose of transmitting and sharing information & data through the networking system. Computer networks may be classified on the basis of various factors. If the classification of computer network is done on the basis of hardware and software technology, it could be either Ethernet, Wireless LAN (Local Area Network), PAN (Personal Area Network) etc. When classification is based on network topology it includes names like Star network, Ring network, Mesh network, Bus network etc.
